Context

CommCare is the world's largest platform for designing, managing, and deploying offline-first mobile applications for frontline workers. I work on CommCare HQ, its Django server backend, as an engineer at Dimagi.

Problem

At this scale — millions of form submissions from low-connectivity environments — routine engineering problems become hard ones: query performance, data pipeline reliability, and backwards compatibility with devices that sync rarely.

What I built

Backend features and performance work across the Django codebase, Elasticsearch-backed reporting, and data pipelines. (Specific projects described generically; the codebase is open source and my commits are public.)

Outcome

Long-running contributions to a platform relied on by health programs in 80+ countries. My work is verifiable in the public repository.
